The Spark: Germany, 2006
Ted Kim had never run a restaurant when he flew to Germany. What he found there — beer under chestnut trees, strangers at communal tables — became the blueprint for Steins.
Seven Years, One Neighborhood
It took seven hard-won years to bring that vision to life. In March 2013, Steins opened on Villa Street in downtown Mountain View — and the taps have been flowing ever since.
